Your Comfortable Retreat in Yorba
Linda
In my previous blog, I centered my attention on one of the
most well-known hiking centers in the immediate vicinity of Yorba Linda, but as
an avid hiker I would be doing a disservice if I were to neglect mentioning the
many options Yorba Linda residents enjoy for hiking. Those who have made their home in Yorba Linda
appreciate the near perfect balance between comfortable suburban civilization
and natural surroundings. Hiking trails
abound in and around the plush neighborhoods of Yorba Linda; a striking harmony
between human development and unspoiled nature.
Here are a few additional examples for those who value the outdoors just
beyond the back yard.
At Rimcrest Drive and Blue Gum Drive in Yorba Linda itself,
hikers find the Rimcrest Trailhead, which is part of the amazing Chino Hills
State Park I mentioned previously. In
addition to being the only free entrance into the park currently, outdoor
enthusiasts of another variety will find the nearby Equestrian Staging
Area. I will have more to discuss in an
upcoming blog concerning horseback riding opportunities in and around Yorba
Linda, but make a note now as the horseback trails in Chino Hills State Park
are among the highest rated in all of Southern California.
Immediately south of Yorba Linda, hikers will find the Deer
Canyon Park Preserve located at 7502 E Hollow Oak Road in Anaheim, CA 92808. A free, and relatively dog-and-kid-friendly
park with ribbons of trails and a tree swing, this hidden gem is worth the
short trip as are a few very noteworthy others.
The Oak Canyon Nature Center found at 6700 E Walnut Canyon Road in Anaheim,
CA 92807 is a picturesque and educational trail for a relatively short relaxing
hike. Similarly, the nearby Weir Canyon
Wilderness Park is a beautiful locale providing a relatively short four mile
hike (or bike), and can be found at South Hidden Canyon Road & Anaheim
Hills Riding and Walking Trail in Anaheim, CA 92807.

paradises in and around Yorba Linda, visit www.everytrail.com/best/hiking-yorba-linda-california
and if you are so inspired to actually visit one of these many local natural
wonders but don’t want to do it alone, I suggest visiting www.meetup.com/YorbaLindaHiking/
