Yorba Linda High School,
home of the "Mustangs" is in its fourth year. It's hard to believe this incredible new fixture
in the Placentia - Yorba Linda school district has already been serving the
Yorba Linda community for four years. As long time supporter and mother
of two superstars of the school district, I can add the arrival of the Yorba
Linda High School as one of the countless reasons to establish a home in Yorba
Linda.
What many outside the
Placentia - Yorba Linda school district do not know is the extent of school
choice given to the residents of the school district. Each high school in
the district has areas of specialty in their educational program, and parents
are encouraged to send their kids to the school which best fits their child's
interest. Yorba Linda High School, as an example, has specific programs
to develop students interested in the culinary and hospitality industries among
other special programs. While most school districts across the country, and
certainly within Orange County, follow relatively rigid geographical placement
for their students, parents of Yorba Linda high school students are given a
flexibility now made even more diverse by the arrival of Yorba Linda High
School in 2009.
The benefits of being a
Yorba Linda family are almost too numerous to count due to the sheer number of
community resources made available to residents of Yorba Linda, but the dynamic
new high school is one of the main attractions. The commitment to the
students and community of Yorba Linda is made clear in the high school's
mission statement emphasizing Service, Teamwork, Achievement, Mastery, Passion,
Ethics, Dedication, and Excellence. On February 6th, 2013, a group of
Yorba Linda High School participated in a signing ceremony celebrating their
signing with colleges due to their athletic as well as academic skills.
In its short history, Yorba Linda High School has already developed a
strong reputation of cultivating academics and athletics and aiming its
students solidly toward college and professional life.
