On Retreat At Home

Your home in Yorba Linda will be a “retreat” while still being at home, or at least a short drive from your home.  People go on retreats to get away from the grind.  Even the most notoriously driven military figures, coaches, business leaders and confessed workaholics agree: one has to take a break from the battle if one is to remain effective in the battle.  We are calibrated for a rest break.  Tradition holds a “divine endorsement” of roughly one seventh of a week devoted to rest.  If you make your home in Yorba Linda and you only have that small fraction of a week to enjoy your home, you will find that it will be enough.

Residents of Yorba Linda enjoy a retreat environment mere moments from anywhere in town.  One of my favorite examples of retreat-at-home Yorba Linda are the world-class hiking and biking trails throughout Yorba Linda and surrounding areas.  Chino Hills State Park is perhaps the best known and one of the most versatile outdoor recreation centers in the Southern California region, boasting over 14,100 acres of hiking, biking, camping and horseback riding among unparalleled natural splendor.  The Chino Hills State Park Discovery Center is open Friday through Monday from 8 AM to 5 PM. It is located at 4500 Carbon Canyon Road in the City of Brea.  Since everyone is designed for a rest break, why not find genuine, away-from-it-all rest someplace close to home?

As a long time hiking and biking enthusiast myself, I can tell you the trails of Chino Hills State Park and many more trails winding in and around Yorba Linda make for incredible recalibration and exercise which simultaneously relaxes.  While I have nothing against those who prefer to drive the same or greater distances to take advantage of one of the variety of indoor gyms in Yorba Linda to get their exercise, I kindly suggest the outdoor exercise alternative available around almost every corner of the city.  A more perfect balance of homey comforts and access to the great outdoors, I’ve yet to find outside of Yorba Linda.  If you are a resident of Yorba Linda, take the time to enjoy it.  And if you are not already a resident of Yorba Linda, take the time to explore it.
